Kathleen Bailey - Receptionist
Having the opportunity to work with people is a great joy, along with having a good sense of humor, and being a receptionist certainly allows that. Kathleen was a receptionist for Dr. Galen Miller for over twenty-two years. Kathleen and her late husband, Kenton, were married for over 50 years. They have five children, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Family get-togethers are her greatest joy, along with church involvement, fellowship with friends, music, reading and being out-of-doors.
Lesley Draper - Treatment Coordinator
As the Treatment Coordinator, I love meeting new people and their families. It’s a privilege to be the first person to get to know them and to make them feel comfortable in the initial consultation. I always learn the most interesting things from our patients and their parents!
I also thoroughly enjoy working in an environment where we have an ongoing relationship with our patients. As their smiles are transformed, many times so is the whole person!
I am blessed to work with Dr. Haught who is not only an amazing orthodontist, but an upbeat, funny, positive force who cares for his patients, staff, and the community.
When I’m not working for Dr. Haught, I am busy raising my 3 adopted teens, interacting with my 3 “launched” girls, riding my bicycle, helping with various church ministries, and am a drilling Reservist Army Lieutenant Colonel.
Gayle Gomez - Front Desk
Gayle was born and raised in Western Kansas and has lived in the Emporia area for over 25 years. When not working at the front desk making appointments, taking payments and other office duties, you'll find her enjoying time with her teenage daughter, along with her four adult sons and 8 grandchildren (9 real soon). She also enjoys sewing, baking, crafts and bicycling.
Cathryn Harrison - Dental Assistant
My name is Cathryn, I have been working in orthodontics for over 30 years. I chose this specialty because I enjoyed watching the changes that occur with our patients. We see young children start treatment and finish as young adults. Hopefully we have contributed to their self-esteem by helping them achieve a healthy smile.
I spend my spare time with church activities. I have learned to play handbells and have joined the choir, all that is required to make a joyful noise. I enjoy supporting the youth by going on mission trips and helping in any ways that I can.
I also try to share my time between San Diego with my grandchildren and Texas with my daughter, her husband and their many pets.
I am truly blessed to have chosen a career that have never bored me and am very fortunate to have an employer that cares about his staff and patients.
Martin Jones - Dental Assistant
I've worked in orthodontics for twenty-five years now, and have enjoyed it very much. I have been married to the same woman for thirty-five years - I have three boys, Kyle, Trent and Dane. I just took up golf about a year ago and I am hooked big time. I enjoy my job because I can see people get excited about their appearance as it changes. I love working with people, making new friends, etc.
Marla Kelley - Dental Assistant
After graduating with a degree in Medical Assisting, I worked for an OB/GYN practice in Wichita, Kansas for a year. Then, in 1991 I moved back home to Emporia and got a job working as an orthodontic assistant for Dr. Galen Miller and the rest, as they say, is history. In January of 1999 I met my husband- to-be at an ESU basketball game (a set up by two mutual friends) and on a beautiful September day in 2001, Shawn and I were married. And as you can see by the pictures - We love taking trips to the Colorado mountains.
